Unique and Alternative Gifting Ideas for Kids

Do you ever feel as though your house is in toy overload?  That the game that your child so desperately wanted for their birthday has been discarded and is now collecting dust on the shelf?

Both of my children’s birthdays fall towards the end of the year and then with Christmas right around the corner, their rooms are brimming with gifts galore.  We ring in the new year with so much stuff, my children barely know what they have.

Moving forward, I have decided to focus on experience-based gifts. For the most part they are  not a cheaper alternative, however, I feel as though they could help enrich my children’s lives and provide us with some new family memories and fun.

Here are some ideas:

1. Magazine Subscription to Highlights Magazine or National Geographic for Little Kids.

2. Subscription Boxes such as Kiwi Crate or Little Passports.

3. Children’s Book Club Membership.

4. Membership to The Bronx ZooStepping Stone Museum for Children or The Liberty Science Center.

5. Indoor Play Passes for The Rock Club.

6. Passes for Rye Playland.

7. Swim Classes at Club Fit Briarcliff Manor or Club Fit Jefferson Valley

8. A Fandango Movie Gift Card

9. An art book of your child’s budding masterpieces.

10. Sponsoring a child with the  same birth date.

Do you have any fun and unique gift plans for your child this year?
