Let’s talk CAKE!!

The cake symbolizes the focal point of any birthday party celebration. At some point during the festivities the party guests pause to sing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday guy or gal. After a few deep breaths the candles are blown out and the sound of applause and laughter fills the room, followed by silence as the power of sugar takes over everyone’s taste buds.

With a growing number of food related allergies, it’s important to speak to parents before your child’s birthday party festivities to ascertain whether any party guests have allergies so you can be prepare for the food accordingly. Here are some bakeries information to keep on hand for your next celebration:

The Kind Cake –each yummy cupcake comes with a message on the bottom encouraging you to be nice to others. $36 per dozen. Did I mention that they are also dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free and soy free?!

Baked by Susan–based in Croton-on Hudson, Baked by Susan won, Best of Westchester 2015 for “Best Bakery” and “Best Cupcake”, Best of Westchester 2014 for “Apple Turnovers” and Best of Westchester 2013 for “Best Cinnamon Rolls”.  In addition to their delicious pasties and cakes they also have gluten-free options by request. 

Swoon Bakery is a dedicated gluten-free, nut-free bakery located in Ridgefield, CT.  They also have a daily menu of vegan options too.  

Izzi B’s is an allergen free bakery located in Norwalk, Connecticut.  Their products are free of gluten, wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, all nuts, and casein with no preservatives, no trans-fats, no refined sugar and they are also cholesterol free. Their sweet bites are also vegan & kosher certified as well as celiac friendly. Izzy B’s is available for purchase in the freezer section at Mrs. Greens or at Chocolations in Mamaroneck.
