Preparation for camp season is in full swing with less than 100 days to go. We recently caught up with Matt Pritikin from Breezemont Day Camp where he provided us with some insider tips and what campers can expect to see at Breezemont this season.
Do you have any tips for first time campers?
Get ready to have fun! Some children experience anxiety/nerves before their first day of camp. One of the most important things parents can do for their child is to share positive messages about camp. Look at the website together! Talk about all the wonderful activities the camp offers, all the friends your child will make and remind your child about the things he or she was excited about when you first made the camp decision. Another good idea may be to try and arrange a get together with another family whose child will be a first time camper at the same camp.
What should parents be putting in their backpacks every day for their kids?
At Breezemont, we provide towel service to campers so that means parents only need to pack a second bathing suit for afternoon swim. We also provide water and sun screen, which are optional for campers to bring with them!
What’s new at Breezemont this year?
This year campers can enjoy our new heated pools, brand new dance studio, cooking class, video production class & a revamped Varsity program.
Do you offer bus services?
We offer door to door bus transportation to families in Westchester County NY and certain parts of Fairfield County CT as well as certain parts of NYC.
How can people get involved with Breezemont outside of camp?
Breezemont is always looking to collaborate with other like minded business and organizations who aim to strengthen the communities which we serve. Breezemont is proud of our deep roots in the community and we owe a lot to our partners, who end up becoming our friends! For example, we have collaborated with a local merchant, Hip Kid of Chappaqua, to provide some pre-summer fun for kids after school ends.
We encourage local businesses to reach out to us and discuss any ideas you may have!
