If you’ve visited, you already know how easy it is to find that perfect venue or vendor that’s sure to make your child’s birthday party the talk of the town. Now with the newly launched Booked Marketplace, one-stop shopping for party favors, unique gifts and party décor is right at your fingertips. Instead of strolling the aisles of Party City or Target for ho-hum gifts or favors, Booked Marketplace features locally-owned businesses selling everything from custom gluten-free birthday cakes courtesy of the award-winning Sherry B Dessert Studio to the world’s smallest Rubik’s cube, a great on-trend party favor option from Hall of Scoops.

Booked Marketplace Is Born

“We launched Booked Parties in the summer of 2015 and our mission all along was to provide parents with a centralized one-stop shop for children’s birthday parties and special events. Booked Marketplace was a natural progression for us as we wanted to not only offer assistance with party locations and entertainment but also to facilitate all aspects of the birthday party planning experience with gifts, party décor, favors, sweets and more all from local vendors,” said company founder Claire Gilvar.

Gifts for Every Age that Supports Local Businesses

While scrolling through the Booked Marketplace vendors, you’ll be sure to find gifts or party favors for every age from first birthdays to the tween and Bar/Bat Mitzvah set. Jeffrey Blockinger owner of Sherry B Dessert Studio sells mouthwatering desserts that can be customized on Booked Marketplace. He notes that [the company] was thrilled to have a local partner who has thoughtfully curated some of the most fun and unique party items created right here in Westchester.”

Another vendor, Melissa Levine of Masha Dasha Designs joined Booked Marketplace “to gain more exposure in the local and neighboring communities.” Levine’s designs are unique because they are all handmade and customizable and she felt that Booked Parties customers would really appreciate the individuality of her products. Customers will also benefit from the fact that many of the Booked Marketplace merchants will offer services such as free local delivery or pick up, free gift-wrapping or product personalization to help make gift giving or party planning effortless.

Adding a Philanthropic Element to Birthday Parties and Celebrations

Booked Marketplace also offers an opportunity for gift-givers or gift recipients to add a philanthropic twist to their birthday parties or celebrations. The Shop for a Cause  storefront allows customers to purchase a gift with a portion of the sales donated to the local charity of their choice supported by Booked Parties such as -The Birthday Box, Birthday Wishes, The Newtown-Sandy Hook Foundation or The Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

Since the company’s inception, Gilvar has always strived to give back to the community spearheading initiatives such as toy drives for homeless children and special events geared towards supporting children in need. “Booked Parties gives back to the community when and wherever we can. We know that celebrations are a luxury and it is important to us to raise awareness and support local organizations whose mission it is to provide resources and help to children in need,” said Gilvar.

Birthday parties or celebrations are increasingly including a philanthropic element and experts say the trend is expected to grow. Another trend in gift giving for birthdays that has risen in popularity in recent years is “experiential gifts.” Booked Marketplace now has the Gift of Experience where grandparents, extended family members or friends can chip in and purchase large ticket items such as a summer at Breezemont Day Camp or a glamour girl birthday photo shoot with Pretty Pictures Photography.

Stay Tuned for New Features and Vendors at Booked Marketplace

Look for more local companies to be added to the site in the coming months as plans are to grow Booked Marketplace significantly in 2017. Another new and exciting feature that is in the works at Booked Marketplace is a wish list where you and your child can compile a list of birthday gifts available on the site and easily send it to prospective gift-givers. Gift giving and party planning has never been easier.
